A BIT ABOUT US

Hello, I’m Granny Maz, well that is what my grandchildren call me, I live in regional New South Wales, Australia. when I decided to create my business the name ‘GRANNY MAZ’ seemed so appropriate and perfect and then name my products ‘Created by Granny Maz.’

And this is the story of how this website and business came into being….

When my grandchildren were born, I started making quilts as a baby gift to them and they also all have a quilt for their bed and that is a great number of quilts I have made, that has been for quite a few years now as there are many grandchildren and still growing.

I often get a phone call from one of my children or grandchildren asking me to make a special something for them such as library bags, costumes a quilt for their bed or a quilt or blanket they can wrap themselves up in when they are feeling under the weather

​

Now I thought it was about time to start creating products for you to give the ones you love and let them share the joy of receiving a quilt or a cuddly blanket, or even a Taggy to get those little fingers working, I also added a wooden teething ring. The products I have created have come about by seeing and listening to what my family members wanted for their newborn or as a gift for a baby shower.

I have sewn all my life, I first learnt at school at the age of five. Also, my mother made all the clothes for my

sister and myself, so I learnt from her as well.

​

I love making the blankets they can be used for tummy time or as a cot blanket. When the little one gets

bigger, I have seen them wrap the blanket around themselves, they even use them to make a tent to hide

under.
